ONEROCK can be applied to most surfaces. We divide them into absorbents, for example:
And then there are non-absorbent or low-absorption media. Other examples are:
Fully Consolidated Supports
The support must be strong. It must be perfectly set and dry. It must be clean of dust, oils and any other material that prevents the correct adhesion of the product.
The support must be completely rigid, without movement or expansion. In the case of supports with mortar or plaster in poor condition, poorly glued tiles or paintings in poor condition, the defective areas must be repaired. Once repaired, wait for it to dry completely before starting the application. On a new drywall, the plates must be caulked and sanded. Later it can be painted with plastic paint before applying the bonding bridge to avoid color problems.
Moisture-free supports
Microcement cannot be applied on surfaces that have a humidity higher than 6%. To be especially careful with plaster or cement supports just made. Its drying time must be taken into account. Unrepaired dampness causes the Microcement not to reach its maximum hardening. They can also cause stains, and can cause changes in colors and even detach the Microcement.
Care
Microcement can be applied outdoors. On the other hand, it should be avoided to apply in areas with very low temperatures in winter and especially where snow can be stored for several days.
Hair moisture must be resolved before applying microcement. To take into account in ground floors and old buildings.
PRIMER ONEROCK is a synthetic acrylic liquid, which is used to improve the grip and adherence of ONEROCK Microcement. Normally it is used only on those surfaces with little or no absorption (stoneware, porcelain stoneware, marble, plastic paint, granite, etc).
Application Method
Apply directly to the surface with a short-haired roller, avoiding spillage of the product and spreading it evenly, without leaving an excessive load on the product.
Once the primer has been applied, allow at least 30 minutes to elapse before applying the microcement. Check that it is dry to the touch before applying.
It is applied by brush or short-haired roller or even sprayed with an airless system.
ONEROCK L and XL is a ready-to-use coating, 100% waterproof, used for the regularization of floors and walls and as a preparation for the subsequent application of the thinner layers of ONEROCK.
It can be applied on all types of substrates, both absorbent and non-absorbent, such as concrete, plasterboard, cement, plaster, marble, granite, ceramic, tiles, etc. whether indoor or outdoor.
Support preparation
Once the container is opened, stir with a spatula until its complete homogenization.
Once the first coat of Primer ONEROCK has been applied, it is necessary to check if the surface has joints and how they are.
In supports that have joints of more than 2 mm, and once the application of the Union Bridge is finished, first cover all the joints with a spatula. It should be done trying to spread the material several centimeters around the joints.
In the event of having to grout the joints, you must wait at least 6 hours for the material to dry before continuing. Once dry, sand the surface with 40 sandpaper.
ONEROCK L and XL
ONEROCK L and XL is applied in layers of a maximum thickness of 1 mm exerting pressure with the steel trowel at 45º.
The use of a spray with water is recommended to slightly moisten the material while applying. The surface should not be flooded.
Two coats of Base are applied, leaving a drying time of at least 6 hours. Both layers must be sanded with 40 grit sandpaper. Once the surface is sanded, it must be cleaned with a damp cloth to avoid impurities in the following layers.
Drying time between 4-6 hours at 20ºC and 60% RH.
a 20ºC y 60% HR.
ONEROCK S and M are the top coat of the ONEROCK microcement system. Its composition is minerals, polymers, aggregates, resins, pigments and special additives.
Application Method
Like the ONEROCK L and XL, they can be applied to almost any surface. In this case, we will use a plastic trowel to avoid “burning” the material and causing what is called marbling.
In the case of smooth surfaces such as plaster, plasterboard, plastic paint … it could be applied directly without the need for the base coat of ONEROCK L and XL. Simply by applying the Primer ONEROCK.
In the case of marble, granite, tile, ceramic and porcelain stoneware, the support must have been previously regularized with ONEROCK L or XL.
First of all, stir the material well with a spatula until its complete homogenization. Apply 2 to 3 coats as needed with a maximum thickness of 0.1 mm in the case of S and 0.3 mm in the case of M each coat until the desired continuous finish is obtained.
The ideal thickness is achieved with the steel trowel inclined at 45 °, exerting some pressure on the surface when the product is applied.
Once each coat is dry, it should be sanded with 220 grit sandpaper. Dust should be cleaned before proceeding to the application of the next coat.
It is advisable to use a spray with water to slightly moisten the material while we apply, without puddling the surface.
Drying time between 2-3 hours at 20ºC and 60% RH.
The Varnish ONEROCK two-component Polyurethane Varnish is a waterproof coating based on aliphatic polyurethanes, highly resistant to washing and weathering (Comp A) and an aliphatic isocyanate without solvents (Comp B), indicated in a special way to be applied in microcement coatings, concrete and polished or printed cement and wood.
Application Method
It must be taken into account that two coats are to be applied, with a drying time between coats of at least 8 to 12 hours. Being a two-component, once mixed, the mixture hardens in approximately 1 hour. For this reason, we will have to mix half of each container so that it serves us to make the two layers.
To start applying, the first thing to do is mix the two components, by mechanical means, until a perfect homogeneous mixture is obtained, in the following proportions: 5 parts of component A (polyurethane) for 1 part of component B (activator). For greater resistance you can reach a 4: 1 mix.
Apply with a brush, short-haired roller or airless on the surface clean of dust. It is recommended to comb the surface to remove any air bubbles, especially in very hot, dry or well-ventilated environments.
Important
Before applying the second coat of Varnish ONEROCK, make sure that the first coat is completely dry.
The final drying time before use must be at least 72 hours. The minimum wait time before you can receive water is 1 week.
