A private beach integrated into the project
SANDPOOL combines high-resistance aliphatic resins with special aggregates to create natural-looking sand pools, with a slip-resistant texture and high durability.
The system can be applied inside the pool and continued into the exterior beach area, creating a uniform, seamless visual transition.
It is designed for continuous immersion and to withstand UV radiation, water, weather exposure and the regular use of residential and commercial pools.
Its range of twelve finishes offers light, mineral, greenish or bluish blends without losing the real texture of sand.

SANDPOOL sand pool construction process
Preparation depends on the existing substrate. The system then continues with application and sealing.
Preparation over concrete or shotcrete substrate
With WATERSTOP 2C, only two coats are required to achieve complete waterproofing against direct water pressure on the walls.
It also forms an elastic membrane that is ideal for receiving the sand coating.
Preparation over mosaic tiles
Depending on the condition of the mosaic tiles, they can either be removed or covered with WATERSTOP 2C waterproofing mortar.
If the tiles are not removed, the first coat of WATERSTOP 2C is applied with mesh, followed by a second coat.
Application
Mix Comp. A and Comp. B using a mechanical mixer in a clean container with a minimum capacity of 25 L. Once the mixture is homogeneous, gradually add the aggregate while continuing to mix.
SANDPOOL mortar is applied using a flat trowel or stainless-steel float, spreading it manually to a thickness of 5 mm until a smooth, compact and even surface is achieved. Material consumption varies depending on the substrate but is generally estimated at 6–7 kg/m².
On vertical pool walls, it is recommended to apply the mortar from bottom to top, while on horizontal surfaces the floor level should be followed.
It is important to smooth and finish the mortar shortly after application, using a clean trowel lightly moistened with isopropyl alcohol to prevent the material from sticking and dragging.
To ensure a continuous and uniform finish, masking tape can be used to divide the different application areas beforehand. The coating is applied over part of the tape, which is removed before the material dries completely. This helps achieve straight lines and minimize joints. The tape is then reapplied along the edge of the already coated, dry and compacted area.
Avoid applying the mortar during the hottest hours of the day, in direct sunlight or when rain is forecast. Material consumption and application conditions must be carefully controlled.
Sealing
To make the SANDPOOL coating easier to clean, it is recommended to seal it with two coats of VARNISH DSV applied by roller.
This is necessary due to the granular nature of the coating, which has a slightly rough texture.
VARNISH DSV protects the coating against water, weather exposure and diluted chlorine in swimming pools.
